One of my main hobbies is destroying my hair. Yep. It takes up a lot of my leisure time. Unlike people who actually do enjoy hiking, swimming and crochet, I enjoy bleaching my hair to ridiculous shades of white and then staining it with insanely bright and happy colours!
At the moment though I’m taking a break from my usual hair destroying ways. I am on a mission to repair my hair by way of no longer bleaching it and instead using super nourishing good quality products.
Yep, it’s true. I have taken a break from the unicorn inspired colours and am instead rocking a beachy balayage look. I am trying my damnedest to grow my hair out, but thanks to years of bleaching, it keeps on breaking off! There’s a reason why they call bleach a ‘chemical hair cut’.
One thing that really messes with your hair when it is already damaged, is heat! That hair dryer and straightening iron does damaged hair no favours! That is unless you use a product that is intended for heat, a product that protects your hair from the damaging effects of hot irons and actually coats your hair in a protective layer, keeping it safe from styling, sun and wind damage.
Luckily L’Oréal Professionnel have just the product! Mythic Oil oil-in cream, coats the hair in a protective veil and offers heat protection of up to 230 degrees Celsius! That’s like, hot enough to cook chicken!
I’ve been using Mythic Oil for over a month now and my hair is looking and feeling much better! I use it on damp towel dried hair, massaging a small amount into my fried ends, then I dry off with my hair dryer, apply a little more product and straighten with irons. It leaves my styled hair feeling softer and healthier than when I began.
Sometimes I don’t even use heat. The cream style oil is a great control product for my wavy/once curly hair. It soothes the frizz and tames the curl into calm tendrils. It has a great fragrance too! Reminiscent of Sabastian’s Potion 9.
So what’s the secret to this stuff? Well it is made with black cumin seed oil, which is known for its nourishing properties. I think this stuff could give argan oil a run for its money!
There’s a whole range of Mythic Oil products by L’Oréal Professionnel. Check ‘em out!
