'Take this Waltz' Directed by Sarah Polley. Starting Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman.
After a while though, things get cosy. First it will be little things like reading in bed together perhaps. Soon it progresses to peeing in front of each other. Pretty soon he will be farting. It all goes downhill from there. Well, no. Not downhill as such. Lets say sideways. Yes, it digresses down another path that is filled with love, security, unconditional support. Family. Life plans. Cuddles. Laughter. Maybe children? Maybe fur babies? However, one thing is for sure, eventually and inevitably, we all end up farting on the couch. And when it comes to that it's nice. It's comfy. Is that really so wrong?
After a few years of couch farting though, things can get a little stifled. Sex is still nice. But it's nice. Which is NEVER a good word to describe sex really is it? Sometimes situations arise, that could lead to temptation. Sometimes you make a connection with someone that also happens to be coupled with a mutual attraction. If this chance happening is timed at a static point in your relationship, there is a great risk of things getting out of control. It's hard to say what is right or wrong. However it is wrong to think that stifled relationships are dysfunctional relationships. Boredom is a natural human condition. Everyone gets itchy feet. Relationships take work and commitment. It's unrealistic to think they don't.
Monogamy can be hard. Not because we need to shag everyone we meet (though some like to), but because when you have found someone you want to spend forever with, then what? Is that it? You can never ever feel that fantastic feeling of attraction and heart palpitations and butterflies in your stomach again? The sex will never be quite as exciting as it was in those first years. Boohoo.
Well, so what. Enjoy the couch farting! Because if you decide to wander, after a few years you will still end up couch farting. Just with someone else next to you.
A must see film.
