Favourite go to drink - tea? coffee? juice? green tea?
I need at least 2 of these before being able to function in the morning ….
Favourite TV show?
Can we make it shows? The Walking Dead, True Blood and Game of Thrones are all just as good!
Can you tell us a bit about the Vampire photo shoot?
We were inspired by the movie What We Do in the Shadows and just saw it as an avenue that could be explored a little. I haven’t really seen any sweet vampire babe portraits around.
If you had to choose, would you be a Vampire, Witch, Werewolf or Elf?
I’d have to say and Elf, because I love the sun too much and they are elegant!!
How did you get into photography?
I've always taken photos. It’s in my blood. I’m from a long line of photographers on both sides of the family.
What inspires you?
I have to say New Zealand in general. There are always amazing breaks of light in the morning and the afternoon that I always stop and stare at….. regardless of what I’m doing. Also the landscapes are amazing. Annie Lebovitz is my number one inspiration. Her work is breathtaking!!
Where did you grow up and how has this influenced you?
I grew up in Nelson, so there's always beautiful light! And Nelson has always been a creative hub that nurtures the arts so it was easy to grow my love of photography there.
What’s it like working in the creative industry in New Zealand?
There are two sides to it, New Zealand has 'A' grade talent when it comes to creatives compared to the rest of the world so it's amazing to be in amongst it, but also very hard to get noticed amongst all the other amazing photographers etc.
Do you consider yourself a feminist?
In the lines of Beyonce and the definition itself: "I believe in the social , political and economic equality in the sexes" but that doesn’t put me in the box of being a feminist. I think it's important for women to strive for equality and nothing less.
What would your advice be to young women who want to be photographers?
Get out there and do it. Don’t let the fact that the industry is male dominated deter you from trying. If anything it gives you more drive to do well. Keep pushing yourself and when you feel you want to give up, push harder. It's all worth it when you can do what you love.
