The best thing about competing in a Zombie beauty pageant is that the normal stuff doesn't matter. "OOh I should really fake tan before the pageant." Nope! I will be covered head to toe in zombie make-up so you wont be able to tell. "Oooh better be careful not to get my dress dirty, or snag it on anything." Doesn't matter, zombies are always dirty and their clothes are usually ripped. "Better be careful not to get fake blood on my talent costume!" Meh, doesn't really matter if I do!........Awesome!
Today I had a play with my make up. Thanks to You Tube I learnt some cool tricks on how to create some awesome zombie make- up at home, using good old fashioned school glue (non toxic white glue) and toilet paper. TA DA! Rotting flesh!
The trick is to layer up the glue and T.P starting with the glue. Apply about 5 - 7 layers and then let it dry really well. Once completely dry apply your base make-up over the top, then you can cut a slice into your fake skin with scissors or just rip it up with tweezers for more of a rotting flesh look - that's what I was going for.
As for my talent, I think I have finally got it sorted. It is a complex act involving lots of tricks and shenanigans. Hopefully I can pull off without a hitch. I only have one go at it which is not usually the case when I am performing in a play. If things don't go perfectly, you can always say to yourself "Ah-well we'll get there tomorrow." Not this time! It is for one night only! So I guess the most important thing will be to just go with the flow and give it my all. And above all HAVE FUN!
Wow. Not long to go now! Come Saturday night I will be competing for the crown of Miss Cadaver 2013! I really hope my talent goes well! And who knows, I could even win!
