I have always been very curious about ghosts. When I was young I was truly fascinated by the idea of the spiritual world. The concept that the dead could return as a foamy spectre was hauntingly appealing. I loved hearing stories of hauntings and ghost sightings from whoever was willing to tell me about them. Usually I would regret my interest once night fell and I needed to visit the bathroom after lights out. I'm not sure why I was so ghost curious. Perhaps it was the need to explain it. Surely there is an explanation I mean if ghosts were really real then where did it end?! Did it mean that there really is a heaven? A hell? Daemons? What of vampires? Faeries? And (Eeeeek!) Unicorns!!!!! I know, I know, EASY TIGER!
By my late teens and early 20s my curiosity had definitely taken the course of a need to explain ghosts scientifically. I mean okay. They could exist but there must be a logical explanation. Right? Like perhaps a time space continuum glitch? Something that can be calculated by a gibberish mathematical equation?
Today you could call me an open minded sceptic. I am pretty much sure that I don't believe in ghosts. Pretty much. Though I am open minded to seeing one. However, I will probably be convinced it's a set up or something. I will think that moving curtain is surely just caused by an over active air vent, or believe that surely the moving image you think you just saw was a reflection or trick of the light. Yep I am probably what you'd call a real ghost hunting pain in the ass.
Yeah at first I wasn't in the least scared. I was pretty cocky about the whole thing really. That is until, Ghost Hunting host and psychic Kathy told us to be sure to bring a torch. A torch? Why? Wait! It's not going to be DARK is it? OH MY GOD! One thing is for sure, everything is scary in the dark. Anything is possible. Your mind plays tricks on you in the dark. Just last night my son mistook the washing basket for a shark in the dark. This new information changed everything. Now I am afraid. Note to self: remember to take a clean pair of pants!
