I have wanted to give up the fire water (alcohol) for a while so I decided that would be the best thing to try and quit using hypnosis. I went to see a local hypnotherapist called Nancy Johnson. At first I was worried she would hypnotise me and steal all my money but my fears were allayed when the hypnotism began and she let me know that I was always in control and wouldn't be asked to do anything silly. Nancy has an American accent and a soft voice. I think I was pretty easy to hypnotise. I was quite happy to lie there and let my subconscious do the talking.
I can remember most of it and Nancy took me to a fork in the road where I could choose to carry on as I was going or make some changes. She made me realise that I'm a duck - not a chicken and helped me to figure out things I can do instead of drinking alcohol. Whether hypnotism works or not, I absolutely loved lying back in a chair under a blanket for a full hour. A whole hour of relaxation!
But the interesting thing is, I haven't drunk alcohol since………and I don't even feel like it…...
Next time I go back, I will ask Nancy to help me stop eating junk food. Is it possible to get addicted to hypnosis?
