Step 1: What do you want?
First thing is first: To will cool stuff into your life you need to know what you want. It’s all very well to ask for all of the stuff, but if you can’t clearly hold an image in your mind of what you want to bring to reality then the vibrations you send out will be thwarted. What you truly want in your life? Is it money to pay off debt? Is it that new job you interviewed for? Maybe you want to manifest more opportunities to turn your hobby into a career? Whatever it is, be specific. The universe will respond.
Step 2: Write it down
Once you know what you want, write it down. But, here’s the catch: write it down as if it has already happened. Instead of “I want to be a millionaire” instead write “I am so grateful to now be a millionaire”. Or better yet, you could be even more specific about how you want to become a millionaire. How about “I am truly grateful to be a successful business woman with a multi-million dollar company!” Yes.
Some people believe that in order for your mantra to be released into the world, you need to write it down hundreds of times over multiple days. I don’t necessarily agree. I actually think that can be detrimental as it makes your mantra lose its oomph and the process becomes a bit of a chore. The power is in the mantra.
Step 3: Meditate
Once you’ve written it down, sit in a meditative state. Hold your mantra in your mind. Feel the joy all through your body as you say it aloud or think it to yourself. Believe it to be real. Feel the gratitude run through your veins. Watch the scene unfold in your mind. Follow the joy down the rabbit hole and see where it takes you. Will it into life. And so it is.
So now what? You’ve found your mantra, written it down and meditated on it. What I like to do now is light a candle and sit with my intensions. I’m a candle person and I feel like this embracing of the elements does something for me. I like to gaze into the flame, holiding my intentions and visions in my mind.
If it sits well with you, you can even burn your mantra. I prefer not to. Perhaps because I regularly write down things I want to let go of emotionally and then burn them, so to burn my mantra would seem detrimental. I like to hide my mantra somewhere. Somewhere sneaky. Like under my bed. Then in six months’ time, when I think of it, I go back and pull it out.
Recently though, I have started placing my mantra upon my altar, sourounded by chrystals. I leave it there for a while so it is constantly in my heart and head.
Step 5: Surrender
The next step is actually the hardest. Once you have hidden, burnt or placed your mantra on your altar, forget about it. That’s right. Move on. Do not obsess about it. Be like Elsa and Let. It. Go. Do not constantly check your emails waiting for all your chickens to come home to roost at once. The power lies in surrendering to the universe and actually doing nothing more than letting things unfold in divine timing.
Though, sometimes I do surround myself with fabulous quotes that empower me to keep on keeping on at what I’m doing. This one is my favourite: The universe is busy organising things in my favour right now. – Unknown. Another fun daily ritual I still continue is to speak a variation on my mantra directly into the mirror every day. It doesn’t have to be the same but it may be similar. For example, I might say “I am a successful business woman.” To myself each day. Sooner or later, I will believe it and then the universe will respond.
All of this is not to say that you will get away with doing nothing at all. No, no, NO. If you are trying to manifest becoming a bestselling author but cannot seem to bring yourself to sit your ass down and write, then I'm afraid you are shit out of luck! If you are hoping to become a millionaire but spend all your money are have no interest in hard work, ditto. You have to actually to the work. The universe will not do that for you. Manifesting your desires will only come to fruition if you are willing to meet the universe halfway. Don't be lazy.
There are a few things to consider. You can’t make people do things. So if your mantra involves other people doing or changing things then it may be in vain. For example, wouldn’t want your mantra to read “I am so grateful my ex-boyfriend changed his mind and came back to me”. Because the universe can’t control people, only energy. Though you could instead state “I am so grateful that the universe has provided me with a loving relationship.” Because really, maybe your ex was a bit of a scum bag and there is someone way better out there for you. Another thing to bear in mind is that you may not get exactly what you are asking for. Personally, after auditions for cool acting jobs, I have tried to will that specific job into reality. To this day it hasn’t worked. But the universe has always provided me other equally as good (if not better) opportunity. So perhaps you won’t get exactly what you are after in exactly the way you were hoping, but the universe will respond. Be grateful. Say thank you!
So there you have it! That’s my woo-woo manifestation practice! Sure, it may seem like fairy tales to some people but then some people also believe in Jesus or 5am jogging! Each to their own I say!
